You Were Never Really Here- Chenoa Warner
October 1st- 31st
These works explore in a mixture of dramatic painterly expressions and tender rendering a focus on “the nature of choice and a life created in each moment”. At medium and large scale the figurative works embody dreamlike characteristics of playfulness and profundity.
Rebecca Schultz
September 1st- 30th
This showcase explores in colorful depth the compositions under our feet and looming alongside us, the local rock formations we overlook. There she finds poetry and history in recesses and outreaches. A beautiful statement is found through the fluidity of paint to represent the rigid structure of geology. In taking such a close examination of the quite strength we take for granted yet depend so much on, Schultz asks us to appreciate the subtleties and learn more about ourselves.

Glass and Petals: A Still Life Exploration- Jill Dougherty
August 1st- 30th
Dougherty‘s recent collection of paintings holds reminiscences of a playfulness in her earlier works, while clearly showcasing an evolved sophistication in composition and execution. Learning from observations found in the standards that the masters had set before us, she brings a contemporary twist of the whimsical and bold with the palette choices and brush work. Beautiful treatment of the timeless motif of still lifes centered on floral arrangements, colored glass, made new with youthful expression. It cannot be unsaid how the presentation of the paintings floating amidst metallic gold frames enhances the glowing warmth of each piece. The orchestration of each pieces contents is neither congested nor scant. Lush where necessary in flower petals and leaves, lean when seeing through transparent glass, there is a wanting to hold each piece close.

Swiftly as a Thought- Paintings by Katherine Fraser
July 1st- 30th
My paintings depict moments of quiet reflection and insight, of wonder, vulnerability, yearning, determination, humility, strength, and growth. I see a duality in every moment, and beauty in the tension of opposing emotions existing in a single facial expression. As every person, and every experience is multifaceted, every painting is meant to express a dimensional idea. I am fascinated by the mutability of memory, by the way emotions can shape perception, and the way we unconsciously create narratives to understand our experience and explain our identities.
I paint out of my sincere desire to respect, express, and share the precious aspects of our commonality. Compassionately and with a generous heart, I seek to portray our continual need to reckon expectations with truth, and the struggles we endure to feel satisfaction with our choices. My goal is not just to make aesthetically beautiful paintings, but to create works that touch and resonate with the complexity of real world experience.
