Allowed to See Differently

September 1st- 30th

The world of abstract can take many forms and this show seeks to encompass a range of artistic styles and mediums to celebrate the wide breadth of intentions and expressions. These are artists who have declared their independence from portraying reality in favor of creating abstract art that focuses the emphasis on the essential elements of line, shape, color, form, and gestural marks. Their aims are to achieve unique visual expressions of intensity and rhythmic effects. This is a language that can be bold or lyrical, structured or loose, brightly colored or quietly muted, cryptic or dazzling; the beauty is that it is often whatever you want it to be, and that may vary from creator and to each individual viewer. When engaging with such works viewers are encouraged to contemplate the meaning, ask the thought-provoking questions, as well as employ their imagination to achieve an extraordinary understanding of such art.

The Tales Told Us So

July 1st – August 31st

A group exhibition showcasing a range of styles and perspective on the theme of mythologies. The show runs from July 1st – August 31st. Artworks will celebrate aspects from across great cultures that influence us still today, as they inherently illuminate humanities universal archetypes. Expect visual interpretations inspired by the ancient Greeks, Europe, from Oceania, Africa, Asia and many other appreciations of the subject.

A Likeness Now Seen

May 1st- June 30th

A group exhibition exploring form as subject by contemporary artists. The collection of artworks addresses issues of self-identity, body type acceptance, intimacy and aging. Working in various mediums from timeless practices to exploring new materials and techniques, artists demonstrate their appreciation of the human figure. Some exercise mastery of classic renderings of the subject while others seek expressive interpretations and inspirations of the all so familiar forms, albeit infinitely unique.

These modern examples of a classic motif naturally register with us because what we recognize is most familiar, a variation of the material self. These are moments in the finite life of another being, stilled and eternalized, sometimes venerated. A story is told, energy is felt, and technical skills are admired. The intimacy of engaging a portrait or figure painting will always be reflective, enticing, and esteemed, from the experience the of artist to that of the viewer.
